Encouragement and Sympathy

Today, I have the May encouragement card for my homebound ministry.  I used a mix of stamps.  The verse is from Verve Stamps "Psalm 121:1-2" and the Damask pattern was an Angel Company set.
The second card is a sympathy card I created last weekend.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The sentiment is TAC Contemporary Greetings.  I added some pearl accents and crinkle ribbon bow.
The third card is another sympathy card like the first.  I used TAC Damask and With Sympathy sentiment.  I added some gem accents on this one.

PaperTrey May Blog Hop Challenge

Blog-hop-logo

Happy Saturday!

I decided to participate in the PaperTrey Ink May Blog Hop.  I got my order Thursday night, Yay!, so I thought - hmm maybe I should make something.  Especially when I found a sketch challenge that was a perfect fit with this hop.

This month is a color challenge, so I chose the Pink Bouquet - Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise and Ripe Avocado color scheme.  LOVE these bright fun colors!
2-Shades-of-Pink-Bouquet
Here is my card.  I used the new May release set called "Ruby Rose".  There is also a coordinating die.
The base card is Raspberry Fizz cardstock.  I added a strip of Ripe Avocado and Summer Sunrise cardstock, which I ran thru the sewing machine.
The flowers are stamped on PTI white cardstock with Hibiscus Burst, Orange Zest and Summer Sunrise ink.  I ended cutting the flowers out by hand because I could not find a wire clipper to cut the die apart.  I did use the leaf dies and stamped them with Ripe Avocado ink.

I used a sketch today from Freshly Made Sketches #87.  Thought it was really perfect for this new set.  Love when that happens.

Supplies --
Stamps: PTI Ruby Rose
Cardstock: PTI Raspberry Fizz, Ripe Avocado, Summer Sunrise

Newton's Law - Less Is More

Hi All,

I have a really fun card today.    I saw this image on the blog of a participant in a Little Miss Muffet challenge and just fell in love with him.  His name is Newton.  Isn't he cute?!?

I think it makes a great birthday card.  Would you believe this is a coloring page image you can download at the website Newton's Law?  There are lots of other fun images too.
I made 2 versions of the card.  The one with the bow will be for my sister's birthday.  The other has PTI button twine instead which I thought would be more gender neutral.

Taylored Expressions - March Kit

In March, I signed up to receive a monthly card kit from Taylored Expressions which features one of their new stamp sets.

I knew my design team commitments were ending in March, so I thought starting a subscription would be a fun way to get some brand new product and be able to create when I found some time.

In mid-April, I figured I really should make something with the March Kit before the April Kit comes.  The kit comes with a stamp set, patterned paper pad, coordinating cardstock and ribbons.  The March set was "Make it Memorable" and the patterned paper is My Mind's Eye "Memorable".

I used several pieces of the patterned paper from the pad and created a patchwork feel.  This paper pad is double sided, so lots of patterns to choose from.  The scallop was created using PTI medium scallop die.
The medallion was stamped using PaperTrey Ink Ocean Tide and frame using Limeade Ice, then I cut the images out.  There are coordinating dies to go with set but I didn't get them.
The second card is similar, I moved the scallop up and used the butterfly from the set for this one.
I added a string of crystal gems for the body of the butterfly. This card is for our teen niece, so it definitely needed some bling.
There is a great thank you sentiment in the set, so I made a Thank You card too.  This is a simple one just cut some strips of varying widths, cut the ends like a banner and layered them.  Added some ribbon from the kit.
The butterfly is stamped using Aqua Mist and I added some pearls.
